This data point tracks the total amount of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) your company consumes in a year in stationary combustion sources — such as heating systems, ovens, or on-site generators — under your operational control. The value should be reported in liters (L), which is the standard unit for this data point.
What to include:
Include the total volume or weight of LPG (propane, butane, or mixes) consumed in fixed-site equipment during the reporting year.
This includes heating systems, industrial processes, lab burners, or emergency generators operating under your company’s control.
Use actual delivered quantities from invoices or tank monitoring systems.
Report in liters.
What not to include:
Do not include LPG used in mobile vehicles, forklifts, or company cars unless they are explicitly part of stationary operations. Also exclude LPG use by third parties or in facilities outside your operational control. If the LPG is purchased but not used during the year (e.g. stored), it should not be included in the consumption total.
Estimation Methodology:
If actual data for the last months of the reporting period isn’t available at the time of reporting, follow this approach:
Step-by-Step Estimation Rule:
Use actual monthly data for all available months in the reporting year.
Calculate the monthly average from the available months.
Multiply that average by the number of missing months to estimate those periods.
Add the estimated consumption to the actual year-to-date total.
