Tracks the amount of petroleum coke (petcoke) consumed during the reporting year. Petroleum coke is a carbon-rich solid derived from oil refining, typically used as an industrial fuel in kilns, furnaces, and smelters. Must be reported in kilograms (kg) and reflect actual combustion in stationary sources under the company’s operational control.

What to include:

  • All petroleum coke combusted in:

  • Industrial kilns

  • High-temperature furnaces

  • Smelting operations

  • Fixed process heat systems

  • Only petroleum coke used in facilities under your operational control

  • The amount must be reported in kilograms

What not to include:

  • Petroleum coke used by subcontractors or third-party operators

  • Any fuel stored but not consumed by year-end

  • Coke used for non-combustion purposes or in mobile applications

Estimation Methodology:

If actual data for the last months of the reporting period isn’t available at the time of reporting, follow this approach:

Step-by-Step Estimation Rule:

  • Use actual monthly data for all available months in the reporting year.

  • Calculate the monthly average from the available months.

  • Multiply that average by the number of missing months to estimate those periods.

  • Add the estimated consumption to the actual year-to-date total.
