This data point measures the total amount of electricity (in kilowatt-hours) used to charge company-owned or directly controlled electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) during the reporting year. The figure should include charging done at company facilities, employee homes (if reimbursed), and public charging stations, provided it is for company vehicles.

What to include:

  • Electricity used to charge:

    • Fully electric vehicles (EVs)

    • Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs)

  • Charging at:

    • Company-owned or leased charging stations

    • Employee home chargers (if reimbursed)

    • Public/commercial charging networks (if paid by the company)

  • All consumption within the reporting year

What not to include:

  • Charging of privately owned vehicles not part of the company fleet

  • Charging of leased vehicles where the lessor is responsible for energy reporting

  • Estimated charging unrelated to actual company vehicle use

Estimation Methodology:

  • If complete data is unavailable:

    • Gather actual kWh consumption from available sources (charging station logs, provider statements)

    • Calculate average monthly consumption per vehicle type or charging location

    • Multiply by the number of missing months

    • Add the estimated value to the actual total
