Description:

Description:

This data point captures GHG emissions from the transport and distribution of sold products to customers when reported based on kilometers travelled (km) and average cargo load (kg). It covers air, sea, rail, and road transport provided by third-party carriers. Green0Meter (G0M) automatically applies emission factors to calculate the tCO₂e.

What to include:

  • All third-party transport of sold products to customers, distributors, or retailers.

  • Data from all modes of transport: air, shipping, train, TIR trucks, vans.

  • Both international and domestic outbound shipments.

What not to include:

  • Upstream logistics of purchased goods (Scope 3.4).

  • Deliveries by your own fleet (Scope 1).

  • Spend-only reporting (covered under spend-based FAQ).

  • Employee business travel or commuting.

Estimation Methodology:

  • Preferred: Use actual distance (km) and cargo weight (kg) reported by logistics providers.

  • If unavailable: Estimate using ERP shipment data (origin–destination distances and cargo weights).

  • If weight data is missing, use the spend based data points for Scope 3, Category 9: Downstream Transportation.

  • Enter both distance (km) and load (kg) into the correct G0M fields; Green0Meter applies emission factors automatically.
