This data point covers direct greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of propane (C₃H₈) released from your operations within the reporting period. Propane is widely used for heating, metal cutting, industrial burners, and as a fuel in various equipment. Its combustion results in direct Scope 1 emissions.

You should report the total amount of propane emitted in tonnes during the reporting year.

What to include:

  • All propane combusted in heating, testing, or industrial processes.

  • Propane used in company-owned stationary equipment (furnaces, burners, testing rigs).

  • Report in tonnes (t).

What not to include:

  • Propane used in vehicles (report under mobile combustion datapoints).

  • Stored but unused propane.

  • Other gases (reported separately).

Estimation Methodology:

  • Preferred: Use supplier invoices or delivery records.

  • If invoices are unavailable, estimate using:

    • Cylinder size × number of cylinders consumed.

    • Equipment usage logs with standard consumption rates.

    • Convert all measurements to tonnes (t) before reporting.
