Create and manage custom emission factors

On the Emission factors page, you can create a custom emission factor for a question in a CO2 form. A custom factor is available within your company.

Find Emission Factors

Open Emission Factors. The table shows Question codes, EF of CO2/unit, Unit, and the available actions.

Create a custom emission factor

  1. Select Add emission factor.

  2. In the Create emission factor form, enter a value in EF of CO2/unit.

  3. Enter the Scope and select a Type.

  4. Select the Unit that matches the question for which you are creating the factor.

  5. Select a Source. Use Source detail when you need to specify the source further.

  6. Enter the year for which the factor applies.

  7. In Question codes, select or add the question code to which the factor applies.

  8. Select Create.

After you create the factor, it appears in the table on the Emission factors page. Use the icons in its row to open the factor for editing, create a copy, or remove it.

Check the created factor

In the table, check that the row contains the correct question code, EF of CO2/unit value, and Unit. If any of these do not match the intended use, open the factor using the edit icon and correct it.

If you cannot create a factor

Check that you have entered the factor value, Scope, Type, Unit, Source, year, and at least one Question code. The unit must match the selected question.
