The platform has been updated with a new carbon footprint calculation methodology, improving accuracy, transparency, and consistency across all emission categories.
Emission factors update (2024) – latest data sources incorporated (DEFRA, Ecoinvent).
Change transparency – all updates are now traceable in the audit file under the “Last Change” column.
Scope 2 – electricity – harmonized and updated emission factors for location-based approache.
Scope 3 (3.5 Waste generated in operations) – adjusted emission factors for waste with unknown treatment.
Scope 3 – spend-based approach – updated emission factors, new data sources, and the option to use country-specific calculations for higher accuracy.
In the Organization section in CO2 Form, you can now select the methodology for calculating values entered in financial units:
Country-specific – a new approach using the EXIOBASE database with emission factors tailored to a specific country.
Average (EU/CZ) – maintains the previous methodology using average emission factors, with no change in calculation logic compared to previous years.
