This data point captures the total amount of electricity (in kWh) consumed during the reporting period that is certified as renewable through recognised schemes such as Guarantees of Origin (GO), Renewable Energy Certificates (REC), or other nationally approved sustainable electricity certificates. The purpose is to document the share of your total electricity use that is matched with verifiable renewable energy sourcing.
What to include:
All electricity purchased with valid and verifiable renewable energy certificates (GO, REC, I-REC, etc.).
Electricity generated on-site from renewable sources only if matched with certification or proof of renewable origin.
Consumption from grid-supplied renewable contracts with certification covering the reporting period.
What not to include:
Electricity from renewable sources without valid certification.
Electricity generated on-site without verifiable tracking of renewable origin.
Purchased offsets or unrelated environmental certificates.
Estimation Methodology:
If consumption data for the last months of the reporting period is unavailable, follow this approach:
Use actual monthly data for all available months.
Calculate the monthly average from available months.
Multiply the average by the number of missing months.
Add the estimated consumption to the actual total.
