This data point measures the total electricity consumption from the grid or other suppliers that is not covered by any sustainability or renewable energy certification (such as Guarantees of Origin, RECs, or equivalent). It is expressed in kilowatt-hours (kWh) and should cover the full reporting period. It helps identify the share of your electricity mix that comes from conventional, potentially fossil fuel-based sources.

What to include:

  • All electricity purchased from the grid or third-party suppliers that does not have a renewable or sustainability certificate.

  • Electricity for all operational facilities, offices, warehouses, and production sites within the reporting scope.

  • Both metered and invoiced consumption.

What not to include:

  • Electricity with Guarantees of Origin (GoO), Renewable Energy Certificates (REC), or equivalent documentation proving renewable origin (reported separately).

  • Self-generated electricity from renewable sources.

  • Electricity used outside your organisational boundary or under a third party’s operational control.

Estimation Methodology:

  • If consumption data for the last months of the reporting period is unavailable, follow this approach:

    • Use actual monthly data for all available months.

    • Calculate the monthly average from available months.

    • Multiply the average by the number of missing months.

    • Add the estimated consumption to the actual total.
